The AIARE Level 1 Refresher Course is designed for the student who has completed an AIARE Level 1 avalanche course and would like to update their knowledge and skills to the current level. Recommended every 2-4 years.
The AIARE Level 1 Refresher Course will go over the following:
- Review of basic Level 1 material
- Interpret the avalanche bulletin
- Create a tour plan based on conditions
- Personal/Group gear check
- Discuss risk management plan
- Terrain travel, group management, travel techniques
- Information gathering and observation field work
- Stability tests
- Hands on decision making
- Companion rescue review and practice
Prerequistes: Completion of AIARE Level 1 Course.
